GAME 9 - JUNE 29, 2000

LAZY BOY 6,  500 CLUB  0

RECORD 2-6

This is about the point in the season where when the going gets tough, you gotta consign yourself and remember that it's only recreation...  So we did that and had a great time, continually ribbing our avant-traitor Mike Dispenza!!  The guys were strong - no doubt.  I wasn't aware planning had that much muscle.  Paul Gisondo and another dude whose name I forget each smashed homers to almost the opposing backstop.  That was about the combined measure of all of our five hits.  They also ripped a double or two, but lucky for us, didn't hit anything into the outfield gaps (just over our heads was all...)

Laurie Levy made her debut at third base in goalie fashion, blocking all 37 shots hit by the opposing hockey team.  Actually she stopped a pair of potentially harmful liners.  Cheryl made her right field debut a quite busy one, considering the Lazys had FIVE left-handed hitters.  She nailed a few flies, but spent a lot of time chasing the aforementioned dingers.

We are going to have a little practice next Thursday, so feel even better about coming along to watch.  Because you won't have to worry about an actual game:-)
